TSG Weddings - DJ Entertainment & Up Lighting

Sam did the uplighting for our wedding at the Peabody Essex Museum and we couldn't have been happier! The room looked gorgeous, and Sam was so helpful and professional.

DJ Sam Lurie was fantastic. Really listened to all our details when we met him, and had everyone on the dance floor the entire evening. He played every song we had requested and some songs that were perfect for the crowd on the dance floor! He ran any request by us first, and his assistant BeeJay, took some amazing and hilarious pictures from our wedding. They also brought some fun lighting, which everyone loved. I would definitely recommend TSG Weddings if you are looking for a great time at your wedding. Andy Sussman (owner) was also very professional and helped us with every behind the scenes steps.

Sam Lurie and Lyle Stevens of TSG Weddings are fantastic professionals. They really really listened to what we were looking for our wedding and provided it. TSG Weddings provided gorgeous uplighting at our wedding last month, classy and elegant, and it made the entire space, both for the ceremony and the reception, look fantastic.

We had Karl from TSG Wedding DJ our wedding on October 22nd, and he was absolutely fantastic! Throughout the process he asked great questions and was super flexible. Very professional, and everyone we spoke to had nothing but good things to say- great transitions, wide variety of songs, kept everyone dancing!And what really made the event was the uplighting- the barn we had our reception in was truly transformed. We highly recommend TSG and Karl.

DJ Karl Murwin with TSG Weddings provided both dj entertainment and uplighting for our wedding. Karl is very responsive in communicating back and forth about the wedding (moreso than any other vendors we used!), always responding to emails quickly and answering all our questions. Karl and the MC were extremely professsional and came dressed to impress! I highly suggest the uplighting - it gave the typical wedding ballroom a romantic atmosphere throughout dinner, and gave the dancefloor a very fun atmosphere. It gave a great background for photos also! Karl was very knowledgeable about music selections and timeline of events, and played all the songs that we requested, as well as keeping to our do-not-play list. He made sure to accomodate our song selections, but also provided valuable feedback and made a few suggestions that were very helpful to us! Our ceremony music was wonderful, and people started dancing before the salad was served at dinner, and danced all night long! My now-husband and I had a total blast and would recommened Karl and his MC with TSG Weddings over anyone else!

Sam Lurie was the DJ for my wedding this past weekend. Sam was extremely diligent about keeping me updated, calling me to confirm every little detail, and helped to guide me along in our planning process. Sam really made the day about what my husband and I wanted and did everything to accommodate our needs. In addition, his DJ abilities were amazing! I honestly think that our guests sat down for a total of 15 minutes. He played a variety of songs that kept the party going the whole time. Sam also worked closely with our function hall to put together a time line of events which was one less thing that I would have to worry about. TSG weddings exceeded my expectations and I could not have asked for a better group of people to work with!

Andy Sussman of TSG was great. We didn't quite follow the schedule we planned and he just rolled with our chages effortlessly. In addition he has provided us with some great photos and video that he and his assistant took during our wedding. He played the music we asked for, added his own choices and kept our guests dancing. Very professional, with great service. I highly recommed Andy and TSG Weddings.

Andrew was amazing. We had the best time at our wedding. During the planning, Andrew was easy to communicate with, kind, responsive and calm. During the event he was just the same. He rolled with little schedule and event changes. We were running off schedule from the beginning of course. For example, we had planned on doing a bouquet toss but didn't designate a time to do it. Twenty minutes till the end, Andrew found me and asked if I wanted to to it then or just keep the music going (people were really dancing). I didn't care too much about the toss and much more about people enjoying themselves, so I chose not to do it. Also, we were planning on not doing the hora, but a few of my friends got the idea that it would be fun to do. They asked Andrew and he said we could do it if he heard from either the bride or groom that it was ok. My husband checked in with me and then the DJ and it was so much fun! These are two examples of the service we got (easy going & doing what WE want). ALSO, it is so great that they take videos and good quality photos throughout. It is great getting the photos posted on facebook and available to you the NEXT day. Some of my favorite pictures were taken by the DJ. They also are not too expensive. I would highly reccommend these DJs to all of my friends.

We heard about TSG Weddings because one of my husband's friends, Karl Murwin, is one of their DJs. Karl worked with us every step of the way and had a lot of great advice from his experience working other weddings. We had a list of a few songs we didn't want played which he was receptive to and helped us customize our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. There was actually very little work that we had to do -- Karl took care of everything and was very professional. He kept everyone, young and old, on the dance floor all night. All of our guests commented on how much fun they had, no doubt because of Karl's handiwork. The price was just right and I feel like we definitely got our money's worth.

TSG weddings is amazing!!! They customized my event to be exactly what me and my fiancé were looking for! They filled even the most impossible requests!!! I have never danced so much in my life...me and my husbands feet are still sore lol. I am most impressed that they got everyone in my family to feel most comfortable and got everyone on the dance floor! The uplighting is a must---it turned my space completely different and made it feel much more romantic. I have never been so impressed with the professionalism and courteousy of a vendor before! By the endof the night they were family!

Sam was an incredible DJ. The dance floor was packed all night long with rocking music. Sam helped me organize the entire night with a detailed schedule. Sam is professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and fun. I could not have wanted or expected more. Sam truly delivered.Now, onto the up lighting Sam explained to me on the phone that these light were amazing. I was not fully convinced, but I took his word for it, and had up lighting at our wedding. These lights blew my mind. I cannot describe in words how incredible they are. They transformed my reception into a party. I truly believe our wedding stands out from others because of this lighting. You have to, have to get this lighting! This is what my mom writes: The music was outrageous. The lighting was breath taking. Thank you for making our joyous occasion extra special.

I hired Samuel Lurie of TSG Weddings to do the up lighting for my wedding a couple of weeks ago, and it was wonderful. He had the right color blue to go with my color for most of the night, but during the dancing portion he had the lights changing to a multitude of different colors and it looked amazing. Samuel Lurie was a pleasure to deal with, prompt in returing emails/phone calls, and he even took some excellent photos and video that he shared with me =)

Andy Sussman was our DJ, and he went above and beyond anything we could have imagined in a wedding DJ. He played all of the music we wanted, from slow/classical music during cocktail hour, to slowly picking up the pace through dinner and eventually having everyone up on the dance floor the exact second our first dance was ending. He answered all emails immediately and genuinely cared. Would rate higher if possible.

Every girl dreams of her wedding day; beyond the dress, hair/make-up, stationary/place card/menu card details - one of the most important elements of the day is choosing music and uplighting vendors that make your venue come alive. TSG Weddings & DJ Samuel Lurie did just that for our 9-10-11 wedding at The Fairmont Copley Plaza Hotel. Working with the natural opulence of the Oval Room (very detailed molding, gold accents and gilded age elegance), TSG Weddings used sophisticated lighting techniques to bring life to the room. We wanted to create a fairytale, dream-like setting for our guests as they entered the room and ate dinner; Samuel used light pink and blue tones to create a chic, cool vibe as we dined. As the party started and he mixed one amazing song to the next (he allowed us to create A &B lists of song we HAD to hear and ones we'd love to hear if he had time as well as a "do not play list"- the lists were so key because we were able to avoid hearing songs we didn't like while dancing up a storm to the ones we love), the lighting transitioned to a sleek nightclub vibe. Guests were commenting all night long (both young and older guests; including my father who was blown away by the lighting) about both the music - Samuel played top 40, dance and old-time classics for the parent generation - as well as the lighting. The uplighting TSG Weddings designed for us truly brought our reception room to a new level. They were even able to create a custom script monogram that was illuminated on the dancefloor!The music by DJ Samuel Lurie was customized to fit our crowd as well as the mood of the night...and to give you an idea - even my 91-year-old grandfather was caught dancing! Everything from perfectly fading our first dance song to knowing when the Father/Daughter dance should be faded was spot on. We couldn't have chosen better lighting/music vendors.It was a night to remember - thank you!

Sam Lurie was the best D.J. He did such a great job with getting everyone at the wedding up and dancing. At the end of the wedding my husband and I loved how he had everyone around us dancing. Everyone also complimented us on what a great D.J. we had. I could not have imagined it going any better than it did. We were so happy with our selection of Sam and would recommend him to everyone!!

Sam from TSG Weddings was the best we have ever seen. He got the wedding started from the intros and it never stopped. He is a consummate professional and we couldn't have been happier. Total value was fantastic. We would highly recommend him.

I would happily recommend TSG Weddings to any bride and groom. I have been to quite a few weddings and the music typically dictates whether people are on the dance floor or not, at our wedding everyone was on the dance floor. We met with Sam for our initial meeting and he made us feel right at ease with getting to know us. Throughout the months leading up to the wedding I was always able to email or call him and the response was almost immediate. The online tool you fill out with all the important information for the wedding day made the process seamless. Sam reached out a week prior to the wedding day and went through every detail. I had listened to a lot of songs to give him an idea of what we wanted. Sam told me to ENJOY the day and he would take care of the music, and he did exactly that. There were a few things that I would say separate Sam from other DJ's. The first is right after the bride and groom's first dance he had all guests on the dance floor dancing. This got all age groups up and moving and ready to have a good time. The other thing was at the end of the night the last song of the night was a slow song for just the bride and groom and he had all guests surrounding them in a big circle. It was amazing to look around and see everyone who was their for us and important in our lives and then he pumped it up for one last fast song. I wouldn't change a thing with our decision to go with Sam. He was professional, responsive and a great DJ. I would definitely recommend Sam for a wonderful wedding day of music!

Sam from TSG DJed our wedding, and honestly, we could not have asked for more. We wanted nothing but the good old oldies, and classic wedding hits like 'Old Time Rock and Roll' and Sam absolutely listened to what we needed and delivered. Also, he arrived to our far away location with plenty of time and brought all necessary equipment and cords and was ready for anything even though he had never been to our venue before. Everyone was still raring to go when the end time arrived, and Sam was happy to stay longer and keep the part going. Sam totally got the mood of the event, can't recommend Sam from TSG enough!

One of the best nights of my life was my wedding just a couple weeks I spent a lot of time picking out each and every detail and made some great choices, but the best was selecting BJ Kendall as my wedding DJ. Friends, aunts, uncles, and cousins were up on the dance floor all night. The music was perfect exactly what I asked for and BJ kept the party going till the very last song. BJ was so wonderful at the wedding helping to coordinate the sound for a new ceremony site when our original plans fell through due to rain and even before the wedding BJ was so friendly and easy to get in touch with I could not have asked for more. I will tell all of my friends to have BJ as their DJ!
